After more than three years of being locked inside my house, moving in to a new place for college seems to be challenging. From packing up things from home to finally eating my first meal at the dorm, there’s a lot of things to be prepared for. Surely, living the dorm life is challenging yet fulfilling.
Living alone became so much harder because it challenges my productivity. I admit it, I get more distracted and lazy. But I was able to get through loving the dorm life by setting goals and some guide to help me be productive.
•Make a to-do list – Listing the things that are needed to be accomplished could help focusing. By having a clear understanding with the deliverables, it is much easier to get things done. Also, it really feels fulfilling to be able check things out of the list.
•Organize your desk – You don’t wanna work with a messy desk! A nice set up increases productivity so invest with functionable organizers and stationary items that could boost your energy!
•Exercise – A healthy mind comes a healthy body. Starting your day with some stretching can help warming up your mind. Exercising also adds up more energy!
•Wear your comfiest clothes – Sweaters or PJs? It’s up to you! Being comfortable means you’re going to do a lot of things done. You’re all goods but just don’t be attracted to your bed!
• Treat yourself to a good coffee! – As the old saying goes, you can never go wrong with coffee! It helps in boosting your mood and can keep you up, specially if you’re grinding your homeworks or reviewing for the exams!
Tada! That’s how I survived my first few months living alone. Just focus on your goals and don’t be scared because you can, too! Cheers to the independent life!
