KaLIKHAsan, an annual art and photo exhibit, is set to return for its third year. The exhibit is organized by the Sigma Rho Fraternity of the UP College of Law, the oldest law-based fraternity in Asia which is now celebrating its 85th year. Some of the Fraternity’s prominent members include Rafael M. Salas, Senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Edgardo J. Angara, Franklin M. Drilon, and Supreme Court Chief Justice Marcelo B. Fernan.
KaLIKHAsan 3 is the brainchild of ARTipolo Group, Inc. member Atty. Roland Tulay ‘87 GA ‘97 whose coffee paintings will be on display together with the works of Rommel Alcantara ‘86, Pio Garayblas ‘97, Jay Calucin ‘19, Limlengco, Daphne Lagunay and the photographs of multi-awarded Macbeth Omega ‘01.
“We should always celebrate the beauty of life and nature as captured on canvas. We have a moral duty to share our everyday talents and blessings,” mused Rolly.
Also among the featured artists is Anne Tulay or “Tulayan”, the Philippines’ representative for Visual Poetry to this year’s Payakumbuh Poetry Festival 2023 in West Sumatra, Indonesia held on October 4 to 7, 2023. She is a graduate of the UP College of Fine Arts and a member of the UP College of Fine Arts Alumni Association, Inc.
DA Assistant Secretary Atty. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra, Prof. Gerry Alava of the UP College of Business Administration; Atty. Gil Taway ‘97, recently-appointed President of APECO; Atty. Fulgencio Factoran III ‘97, Senior Partner of GAIA South Law Offices; and Pol Mesina, President of ARTipolo Group, Inc. are among the Guests of Honor expected to grace the Grand Opening on October 21, 2023 at 4 pm at MC Bar & Resto, San Juan, Metro Manila.
KaLIKHAsan 3 will run until November 20, 2023 and is co-sponsored by Ronin Brotherhood Motorcycle Club Mandaluyong Charter, Tulayan Fine Arts, and Batch ‘97 of the UP Sigma Rho Fraternity.
