While every contestant in a beauty pageant wishes for World Peace, the Global Peace Foundation kicks off with the three-day 2022 Global Peace Leadership Conference on December 1 to 3, 2022 at the Clark Global City in Pampanga, a most appropriate venue for the event. As a growing child, I remember Clark as the Philippine Air Force base in Angeles City. Now, decades later, Clark goes by the name Clark Global City, known as a Smart, Safe and Sustainable Center, a fully master-planned Central Business District in Luzon.
Going back to global peace, the Conference gathers thousands of Global Peace Advocates from all over the world to share their best practices in promoting peace and development. With all the uncertainties brought by the COVID-19 Pandemic, Dr. Hyun Jin Preston Moon, Chairman of the Global Peace Foundation, shares that a clear vision is needed to address pressing global concerns and resolve them at the soonest and shortest possible time.
The event features three programs, namely: Service-Learning Program, Global Peace Leadership Conference and Global Peace Festival. The Conference aims to build a network of key leaders and address critical issues in Education, Women Leadership, Corporate Social Responsibility, Religious Freedom, Peace & Security, and Media. Participants will continue to foster the common vision of One Family Under God which unites peoples from all over the world, regardless of gender, race, age and beliefs. Differences shall be patched up in order to bring the white dove hovering about every member nation.
While it is true that world peace may just be an idea of a world without violence, with nations working hand in hand, the Global Peace Leadership Conference may just be the right venue to realize and attain global peace – never to remain just an idea.
